Huge step forward for Stanley Park Building

12.00.00am GMT Thu 25th Mar 2010

A new building for Stanley Park High School is a huge step closer after the sale of the land at Orchard Hill was finalised by NHS Sutton and Merton and Sutton Council.

Tony Brett Young, Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Young People on Sutton Council said: "I am delighted that the sale of the land on the Orchard Hill site has now been completed. This is an important step for Stanley Park High and we are making significant progress towards building a world class school.

"We have excellent schools across the borough and investing in the future of our young people is a key priority for the Liberal Democrats on Sutton Council."

The new state of the art school will cater for increased numbers of local children each year, with 350 places in the sixth form and 91 places for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
