Tom Brake MP Drinks Coffee in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning

5.24.07pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 28th Sep 2008

Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington joined tens of thousands of people around the UK on Friday for the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. He met other Macmillan supporters Friday morning in Canine Clips (the dog-grooming salon) in Wallington for a quick cuppa.

The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest and best-known annual fund-raiser. It has a simple yet compelling objective: share a cup of coffee in people's houses or businesses and raise funds for the fight against cancer. These funds provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care.

'I hope this year we are going to break the previous fund-raising record of £7.6 million and be in a position to help hundreds more people. Macmillan nurses make a real difference at a really difficult time.'

Glazed All Over, the ceramics studio in Stafford Road, Wallington, also took part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
