Peter was elected as a Councillor in May 2010 and has lived in Carshalton Beeches all his life. From school age he has taken a keen interest in local and national issues, both social and environmental.
At university Peter studied Business Studies (undergraduate) and Policy Studies (postgraduate), conducting much research into international development.
In recent years he has been working with young people from sports groups, church groups and Scouts. Peter is Sutton's Young Careers Champion and has been promoting the causes and resources of the Young Carers' Centre in Sutton.
As a Councillor Peter has taken up many issues in the last year, including working with Sutton Housing Partnership to help residents identify areas of improvement at various levels. He has also been working with local residents to resolve issues of road safety and parking. However, the main concern in Carshalton South has been the construction of the new Stanley Park High School and liaising with residents' groups and stakeholders to ensure their voices are being heard by the Council.
