Myfanwy became a Councillor in 1998 and became a member of the Education Performance Committee and the Teacher and Joint Committee later becoming Chair of the Teacher and Joint Committee and Vice Chair of Education Performance Committee.
She then became a working member of the then newly formed Health and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee and became Chair of that committee in 2006/07 and also in 2010/2011.
In 2007/8 as Mayor, Myfanwy met many residents devoted to making Sutton a better place. As Champion for Older People she encourages others to be actively engaged within the borough.
Myfanwy has a passion for education. Besides being a tutor at Merton College she is a Governor at Robin Hood Infants and Chair of Governors for SCOLA.
At present Myfanwy is a member of the following committees:
Appeals committee;
Standards Committee;
Scrutiny Overview Committee;
Sutton Local Committee.
Myfanwy is keen that Sutton West ward retains its local character and supports the committed work in the garden nursery of Seears Park.
