Marlene moved to Sutton with her husband and two sons 25 years ago.
She was a Sutton council officer for 8 years and was so impressed that the consultation and community involvement was for real that she joined the Liberal Democrats.
This is Marlene's second term as a councillor. Her special interests and skills are centred around tenants and residents of social housing, education, and people with learning disabilities.
She currently chairs the Sutton Local Committee, the Carers Delivery Group, and is co-chair of the Learning Disabilities Partnership Board. Marlene is Sutton Council's Adult Carers Champion and serves on the Health and Wellbeing Committee.
Marlene is also Chair of Rosehill Community Association - a charitable voluntary organisation whose Centre provides lots of social and sports facilities for local people of all ages.
