Ed is a Lib Dem councillor for Beddington South, which was was won from the Conservatives in 2010. He joined the Young Liberals in his youth and has been a lifelong supporter, activist and ward organiser in a number of boroughs prior to moving to Sutton in 2009. He worked for 10 years for Cable and Wireless and then set up Samite Ltd, a software development company, in 2000. Ed lives on Beddington Lane and is a member of the Roundshaw Community Board and the friends of Roundshaw open spaces. He comes from a Lib Dem family. His brother was a Lib Dem county councillor and the parliamentary agent for Arfon in the 2010 election. Ed speaks Japanese and in his spare time enjoys writing novels
