Councillor Colin Stears was born in Sutton and has spent most of his life here. All his schooling was within the borough.
Colin was elected to Sutton Council in May 2006 to represent the Wrythe Ward after just have missed out being elected in 2002 in Sutton South. He has served as local party Chair and Treasurer.
After the 2006 elections Colin was asked to take up the position of Executive Member for Adult Social Services and Housing and this has continued with a slight change of responsibility, dropping Housing but gaining Health.
He is also currently the Liberal Democrat Health and Social Services spokesperson on London Councils.
Colin has worked with all levels and organisations in the NHS for nearly 40 years and he is now a partner in a large GP practice in South East London.
