The club is one of just 500 across the country to receive the award from Kellogg's cereal company.
A good breakfast has been proven to improve children's concentration and behavior, and early-morning clubs can be a lifeline for parents who need to leave early for work. The Hackbridge Primary club has been providing healthy breakfasts to pupils for twelve years, and has recently changed its hours to allow parents to catch earlier trains.
Cllr Kirsty Jerome, Executive Member for Education and Schools on Sutton Council, said: "Breakfast clubs give children a good start to the day, so it's great news that the Hackbridge club has been given a boost.
"The Hackbridge club helps children to get set up for the busy school day ahead, as well as providing a bit of help to parents who have to start work early.
Headteacher Jacquie Fairhurst said: "As well as giving children energy for the rest of the morning, breakfast clubs give them some extra time to finish off bits of homework and chat with other pupils.
"We're going to use the money to buy new equipment and toys for the children to play with. The grant will enable us to plan ahead to ensure that after 10 years it continues to go from strength to strength."
